Water

Water is essential to all bodily functions and to life itself. It is taken internally either directly or indirectly through fruits and vegetables. Tap water is quite often undesirable due to toxic elements that it may contain - such as lead, copper, aluminium, nitrates, etc. Bottled spring water is a healthy alternative and water filters are available which remove many of the harmful elements found in tap water. It is not recommended to drink large quantities of water, thirst alone should dictate the amount consumed. Water is also used externally in alternative medicine in treatments which include cold compresses, salt baths, saunas and use of swimming pools.
