Positivity

Just as positive health induces a sense of positive thought and wellbeing, the converse is also true. A positive and cheerful disposition will exert a profound and definite influence upon the secretions and workings of the human system. It is true to say that many diseases, including cancer, are likely to occur after periods of stress and trauma and, whilst it is impossible to remove emotional pain from the human condition, it may be possible to avoid the onset of illness through positive thought and the development of a positive personal philosophy to life. It must be said here that a prerequisite to sound mental health is vigorous physical health and this is a goal to be pursued through the observance of the physical laws of nature.

The will to live is a significant influence over our life chances and thus a general attitude of positive thought will keep illnesses at bay and increase our life span. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to liberate a degree of positive thought and reflect from time to time on morale raising aspects of the human condition whether it be heroism, compassion or the dawn of consciousness.

In consideration of consciousness, it might be described as a higher form of enlightment which counters the more primative passions of ego, vanity and self-interest and enables the individual to experience an empathy with the world around him, a tolerance and compassion toward his fellow man.

The individual can do no greater service to himself and to humanity than to ally himself with the forces of higher consciousness whether it be through personal development or through active participation in humanitarian issues. It is certain that the healing force of positive thought is an untapped source of human joy and no matter what the individual's personal circumstances are, there are few situations which do not benefit from the gift of hope and the power of positivity. The pursuit of happiness in which we all take part is ultimately a pursuit of spiritual joy and in this scenaro we play a leading role. Through meditation, introspection or thought development it is possible to dissipate some of the tensions of everyday life and to develop the gift of gratitude for the positive elements each day contains. Modern day materialism, with its relentless pursuit of money, possessions and superficial pleasures does not seem particularly conducive to human happiness. Higher considerations of inner development and inner peace and mastery of the art of positive dynamism are more likely to be conducive to true happiness.
