Air

Air provides oxygen which is transported through the bloodstream by haemoglobin. Man cannot survive longer than a few minutes without air so its importance is self-evident. Fresh outdoor air contains negative ions which induce well-being and vitality. Positive ions which accumulate indoors and in built-up areas have the opposite action and tend to induce lethargy and fatigue. Fresh air is a potent rejuvenating force and a therapeutic tonic to the whole system. There are few people whose spirit and constitution are not invigorated by oxygenation of the bloodstream through outdoor pursuits in fresh, unpolluted air.
